When an error in a published case is reported and confirmed, we fix the article and record the change here. We do not quietly edit facts. Wording, layout and link changes that do not alter what an article says are not listed.

The source was credited to the wrong authors and journal. The case is reported by Rifkin WJ, Bellamy JL, Kantar RS, Farber SJ, Diaz-Siso JR, Brecht LE and Rodriguez ED in Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction 2019;12(2):150-155, not in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open. The senior author and the hospital were correct. The case itself is unchanged, and the source note now links to the paper.

The year of the source paper was given as 2017. It was published in Archives of Plastic Surgery in 2018, volume 45, pages 80-84. The source note now names the authors and links to the paper.

The introduction said the patient died during one of her five operations. That was wrong and contradicted the case itself: her heart stopped during one of the operations and she was resuscitated. The introduction now says she went into cardiac arrest during one of them, matching the case record and the section describing the operations.
